In Treatment of Tuberculosis (TB) Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs but can affect other parts of the body as well. RF HE Kit helps treat tuberculosis by stopping the growth of bacteria causing infection. Your symptoms might improve after using RF HE Kit. However, make sure to complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Check the label before use. RF HE Kit is to be taken empty stomach. Avoid RF HE Kit with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

RF HE Kit is a combination of three medicines: Rifampicin, isoniazid and ethambutol, which treats tuberculosis. Rifampicin works by inactivating a bacterial enzyme (RNA-polymerase) which is required by TB bacteria to make essential proteins and to reproduce, while isoniazid prevents these bacteria from forming their own protective covering. Together, they kill the bacteria and eradicate the infection. Ethambutol, on the other hand works by slowing the growth of these bacteria.

Alcohol

Unsafe: It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking RF HE Kit , as it may lead to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure, known as a Disulfiram reaction.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: RF HE Kit may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: RF HE Kit is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Driving

Not Safe: RF HE Kit may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. RF HE Kit occasionally causes sight problems and tingling or numbness in hand or feet. After taking this medicine you should not drive until you know how it affects you.

Kidney

Caution Advised: RF HE Kit should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of RF HE Kit may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Kidney function tests are advisable before the start of this medicine.

Liver

Caution Advised: RF HE Kit should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of RF HE Kit may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of RF HE Kit is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

It is best to take the medicine on an empty stomach one hour before or two hours after meals. Finish the prescribed course of medicine, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection harder to treat. It can make birth control pills less effective so ask the doctor about using a birth control method which does not affect your hormone levels (such as a condom, diaphragm, spermicide). It can cause temporary discoloration of your teeth, sweat, urine, saliva, and tears (red, orange, or brown color). This side effect is usually not harmful.
