How to use Regoril-Total Syrup Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Regoril-Total Syrup can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.
How Regoril-Total Syrup works Regoril-Total Syrup is a combination of five medicines: Ambroxol, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Phenylephrine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Menthol. Ambroxol is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which relieves symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Menthol produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.

Regoril-Total Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Regoril-Total Syrup is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
It is not known whether Regoril-Total Syrup alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
