How to use Polymed B Eye Ointment This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.
How it works
How Polymed B Eye Ointment works Polymed B Eye Ointment is a combination of three medicines: Polymyxin B, Chloramphenicol and Betamethasone, which treat eye/ear infections. Polymyxin B is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by destroying bacterial cell membrane. Betamethasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy after an allergy or infection. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
