Polaramine Paediatric Syrup is an antihistamine medicine that effectively treats a wide range of symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and itching caused due to allergic conditions like hay fever, urticaria (hives), conjunctivitis (red, itchy eye), and the common cold.Give Polaramine Paediatric Syrup to your child by mouth with or without food in the dose and way prescribed by the doctor. It may be prescribed alone or in combination with other medicines. The allergic symptoms may subside after your child has taken the initial few doses of Polaramine Paediatric Syrup. In case of serious allergic conditions, your child may have to continue taking the medicine for a week or two. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, let the child calm down and give the same dose again. It provides relief from symptoms that develop in such conditions like blocked or runny nose, sneezing, and itchy or watery eyes. Give Polaramine Paediatric Syrup regularly to your child as recommended by the doctor. It treats and prevents these allergic symptoms by blocking the chemical histamine responsible for causing them.

Polaramine Paediatric Syrup belongs to a class of medicines called antihistamines. It blocks the natural chemical substance (histamine) produced in the body during an allergic state and subsides (lowers) your child?s immune system?s response to these conditions, thereby reducing the symptoms.
Kidney
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Polaramine Paediatric Syrup is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Polaramine Paediatric Syrup is recommended. However, consult your child's doctor before giving Polaramine Paediatric Syrup to your child in case of severe kidney disease.
Liver

Remain calm. Unless your child�s doctor has provided specific instructions, administer the missed dose once recalled. If it's nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Adhere to the prescribed dosing schedule and avoid administering a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C
Try giving the medicines at the same time each day as that will help you remember the doses and prevent the chances of missing a dose. Your child may feel sleepy or dizzy after each dose of Polaramine Paediatric Syrup. If this happens, make your child sit or lie down and ask them to be careful while performing tasks that require mental focus. Dry mouth can occur as a side effect of taking Polaramine Paediatric Syrup. Taking frequent sips of water may help. Polaramine Paediatric Syrup can trigger constipation in your child. If this happens, give plenty of fluids and a fiber-rich diet to your child. Polaramine Paediatric Syrup should be avoided in children who are less than 2 years of age as there is a risk of respiratory distress. Do not alter the dose or abruptly stop the medicine by yourself as it may render the treatment ineffective and cause side effects. Along with giving this medicine on time, ensure that your child follows self-care measures such as avoiding exposure to allergens and maintaining hygiene as these may help your child recover fast. Polaramine Paediatric Syrup should not be used in children less than 12 years of age. Patients with other underlying medical conditions must consult their doctor before taking Polaramine Paediatric Syrup. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should not take this medicine unless prescribed by a doctor. Polaramine Paediatric Syrup should not be taken by patients taking Monoamine oxidase inhibitors, such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, etc.
