How Nucomet Tablet SR works Nucomet 500mg Tablet SR is an anti-diabetic medication (biguanide). It works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying the absorption of sugar (glucose) from the intestines, and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Nucomet 500mg Tablet SR as it is deemed unsafe.
Nucomet 500mg Tablet SR is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Nucomet 500mg Tablet SR should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Your ability to drive may be affected if your blood sugar is too low or too high. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Nucomet 500mg Tablet SR should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Nucomet 500mg Tablet SR may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.Use of Nucomet 500mg Tablet SR is, however, not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Nucomet 500mg Tablet SR is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Doctor consultation is advised.
What if I forget to take it?
If a dose of Nucomet 500mg Tablet SR is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
