Nu Axiom 250mg Injection 2ml is a broad-spectrum third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections. It contains the active ingredient Ceftriaxone, which is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The medicine works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. It is commonly prescribed for infections of the lungs, bloodstream, brain (meningitis), urinary tract, abdomen, skin, bones, and joints.

Nu Axiom 250mg Injection 2ml contains Ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic intended for the treatment of moderate to severe bacterial infections in adults and children. It is usually administered by intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injection in hospital or clinical settings.

Ceftriaxone works by interfering with bacterial cell wall formation. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), preventing the synthesis of the cell wall that bacteria need to survive. This causes the bacterial cell to weaken and rupture, resulting in a bactericidal effect.

• Calcium-Containing IV Solutions: Should not be mixed with ceftriaxone
• Blood Thinners: May increase bleeding risk
• Other Antibiotics: May alter effectiveness

• Severe allergy to cephalosporins or penicillins: In patients with a known serious allergy to cephalosporin antibiotics (and sometimes penicillins), ceftriaxone can trigger severe hypersensitivity reactions, so it should be avoided.
• Gallbladder or biliary disease: Ceftriaxone can form calcium–ceftriaxone precipitates in bile, leading to biliary sludge or gallstones, which may worsen existing gallbladder or biliary tract disorders.
• Severe liver and kidney impairment: In patients who have both significant liver and kidney disease, ceftriaxone may accumulate in the body and increase the risk of toxicity, so careful monitoring or dose adjustment is required.

The usual adult dose ranges from 1–2 g once daily, depending on the infection. Severe infections may require higher doses as prescribed by a doctor.

Overdose may cause seizures or severe gastrointestinal symptoms.Immediate medical attention is required.

Since it is administered by healthcare professionals, missed doses are uncommon. If a dose is missed, it should be administered as soon as possible under medical supervision.
