In Prevention of Measles Measles is a viral infection that starts in the respiratory system. It causes skin rashes that spread all over the body. It spreads from person to person through direct contact as well as through air. MR-Vac Vaccine is used in preventing measles. It works by causing your body to produce its own protection (antibodies) against the disease. The first dose of MR-Vac Vaccine should be given to infants at the start of 12 months and the second dose at 4 years. It is advisable to consult your doctor for complete information regarding vaccination schedules. In Prevention of Rubella Rubella is a viral infection that causes red rash on the body. It is transmitted by airborne droplets when infected people sneeze or cough. It occurs most often in children and young adults. Rubella infection in pregnant woman can result in miscarriage, stillbirth or serious birth defects. MR-Vac Vaccine helps protect against this infection when taken at the right time.

MR-Vac Vaccine is a combination of two vaccines which prevent measles and rubella. They help develop immunity by initiating a mild infection. This type of infection does not cause illness but stimulates the body's immune system to produce antibodies (proteins) to protect against any future infections.

Alcohol

Consult your Doctor: Please consult your doctor regarding the safety of consuming alcohol with MR-Vac Vaccine . Experts have not found evidence of alcohol impairing the effectiveness of the medicine.

Pregnancy

Safe when prescribed by an expert: MR-Vac Vaccine is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding

Driving

Seek medical advice from your doctor: It is not known whether MR-Vac Vaccine alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney

Liver

If a dose of MR-Vac Vaccine is missed, it's advisable to consult your doctor.

Store in a refrigerator (2 - 8�C). Do not freeze.

MR-Vac Vaccine is given to immunize against measles and rubella in infants 15 months of age or older. About 7 - 12 days after vaccination, some recipients may experience fever and rash for 1 -2 days. Joint pain may happen among adolescents and adult females but is rare in children and in men. MR-Vac Vaccine should not be given less than one month before or after administration of other virus vaccines. Your doctor will be able to advise you more on this.
