• Take this medicine with or without food.

• Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• If you are taking this medication as part of a treatment course for H. pylori infection, complete the full course of therapy as directed, even if your symptoms disappear.

• If you are treated for erosive esophagitis, a typical course of treatment lasts up to 8 weeks.

• Unlike some older acid medications that must be taken 30 to 60 minutes before a meal, vonoprazan can be taken at any time, regardless of when you eat.

• If you are taking this for an infection (H. pylori), taking all your antibiotic doses exactly as scheduled is the best way to ensure the infection is completely cured.

• Long-term use of acid blockers can make it harder for your body to absorb certain nutrients, such as Vitamin B12 and magnesium. Talk to your doctor if you are on extended therapy.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.

• Food: No clinically significant interactions have been observed. It can be taken with or without food.

Tell your doctor about all your current medicines and any you start or stop using, especially:

• Medications whose absorption depends on stomach acid (such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, or atazanavir).

• Mycophenolate mofetil.

• Digoxin.

This medicine should be used with caution, or avoided, if you have:

• Severe kidney disease

• Moderate to severe liver disease

• A history of osteoporosis or bone fractures

Your dose will be determined by your doctor based on the condition being treated. The standard dose for treating erosive esophagitis is typically 20 mg once daily. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line immediately if an overdose is suspected.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose.
