How to use
How to use Metcon Tablet Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Metcon Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.
How it works
How Metcon Tablet works Metcon Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Metoclopramide and Paracetamol. Metoclopramide is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. This prevents nausea and vomiting caused due to migraine. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever associated with migraine.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Metcon Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Metcon Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Metcon Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Metcon Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.Metcon Tablet may cause drowsiness, dizziness, dyskinesia and dystonias which could affect the vision and may interfere with the ability to drive.
Metcon Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Metcon Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
Metcon Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Metcon Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
What if I forget to take it?
If a dose of Metcon Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
