It is used to treat many different types of bacterial infections such as infections of lungs (pneumonia) and urinary tract. It is given by a doctor or nurse into a vein and should not be self-administered. Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection usually makes you feel better very quickly but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

How Meronom-S Injection works Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection is a combination of two medicines: Meropenem and Sulbactam. Meropenem is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate Meropenem. Addition of Sulbactam reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Meropenem against bacteria.
Alcohol
Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection .
Pregnancy
Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding
Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
It is not known whether Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney
Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
Liver
There is limited information available on the use of Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection in patients with liver disease. Doctor consultation is advised.
If a dose of Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection is missed, it's advisable to consult your doctor.
Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C
Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor only. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It may cause dizziness. Don't drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how medicine affects you. It is advisable to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to overcome medicine side effects. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medication as it can enhance the dizziness. Discontinue Meronom-S 1.5gm Injection and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
