In Treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure) Losavas H Tablet is a combination of two medicines namely Losartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. It is generally used when one medicine alone is not controlling your blood pressure effectively. Losartan works by relaxing and widening your blood vessels so your blood can flow more easily. This will lower your blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is known as a diuretic (water pill) which increases urine output thereby lowering blood pressure. If your blood pressure is controlled you are less at risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or kidney problems. The medicine must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Losavas H Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Losavas H Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Losavas H Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Losavas H Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Not Safe: Losavas H Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

Caution Advised: Losavas H Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Losavas H Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Losavas H Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

Caution Advised: Losavas H Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Losavas H Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Losavas H Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C
