Treatment of Malaria

In Treatment of Malaria Malaria is a serious or life-threatening illness that is spread by a parasite that enters the human body by the bite of infected mosquitoes. Lavclor Tablet is an antimalarial medicine and is used to treat malaria. It kills the infection-causing parasite and stops the further spread of the infection in the body. Do not use this medicine for treating any other condition without consulting your doctor.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Vomiting, Upset stomach, Stomach pain, Dizziness, Headache, Itching, Hives, Rash']

Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lavclor Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.

Lavclor Tablet is a combination of two antiparasitic medicines: Chloroquine and Primaquine which treat malaria. They work by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Lavclor Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Lavclor Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Lavclor Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Not Safe: Lavclor Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Sometimes Lavclor Tablet causes blurred eyesight or makes it difficult to focus your eyes which may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Caution Advised: Lavclor Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Lavclor Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Caution Advised: Lavclor Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Lavclor Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Regular monitoring of liver function tests may be advised while you are taking this medicine.

If a dose of Lavclor Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Lavclor Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take with food if you experience stomach upset. Tips to reduce the chance of being bitten by mosquitoes:Wear light-coloured and covered clothing when you are outside after sunset.Use insect repellent creams or sprays on parts of your body not covered by clothing.Spray to kill any mosquitoes that may have entered rooms in spite of screening. It may cause blurring of vision, when you first start taking it. Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration. It may cause low blood sugar levels. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly, if you are diabetic. Stay hydrated and drink plenty of fluids while taking medicine to overcome the side effects.
