In Treatment of Bacterial skin infections Ephytol Ointment is used to treat skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, severe insect bites, prickly heat, and other types of rash. It reduces swelling, redness, and itching and so helps prevent scratching that can further irritate the skin. Apply a thin layer of Ephytol Ointment, once or twice a day, to affected areas of skin only. You may see an improvement in your skin within a week depending on the severity of your condition.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them.
This medication is designated for external application solely. Utilize it according to the dosage and duration instructed by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Ensure that the affected area is clean and dry and gently massage the ointment.
Ephytol Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Betamethasone and Neomycin. Betamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Neomycin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth on the skin by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Ephytol Ointment may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Ephytol Ointment is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of Ephytol Ointment via licking.
If a dose of Ephytol Ointment 15 Ointment is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
