It works by stopping the growth of the bacteria. It is advisable to continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all bacteria are killed.

How Emcef CV Syrup works Emcef CV Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Cefixime and Potassium Clavulanate. Cefixime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Potassium Clavulanate is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefixime against bacteria.
