Echopin 5 Tablet is a prescription medication that belongs to the class of calcium channel blockers. It is unique because it contains only the S-isomer of amlodipine, the part of the molecule responsible for lowering blood pressure. In standard amlodipine, the R-isomer is largely inactive. • Grapefruit Juice: Do not consume grapefruit or its juice as it can significantly increase the drug's levels in your blood.

• FOOD (NO INTERACTION): Can be taken with or without food.

• Grapefruit Juice (MODERATE): Increases the concentration of S-Amlodipine, leading to an increased risk of side effects.

• Alcohol (CAUTION): May cause an excessive drop in blood pressure and increased drowsiness.

• Simvastatin (MODERATE): S-Amlodipine can increase levels of Simvastatin; dose limiting is usually required.

• CYP3A4 Inhibitors (MODERATE): Antifungals or certain antibiotics can increase the drug's effect.

• Tacrolimus (MODERATE): Blood levels of Tacrolimus may increase when taken with this medicine.

• Severe Aortic Stenosis (CAUTION): May increase the risk of heart failure due to reduced blood flow.

• Liver Disease (MODERATE): Requires careful monitoring due to slowed drug clearance.

• Heart Failure (CAUTION): Should be used with caution in patients with severe congestive heart failure.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose (within 12 hours), skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once to make up for a missed one.
