In Hypertension (high blood pressure) Ditide Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This maintains balance of electrolytes (like potassium), lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them.
Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ditide Tablet is to be taken with food.
Ditide Tablet is a combination of two diuretics: Benzthiazide and Triamterene. They work by removing extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, benzthiazide also relaxes blood vessels but causes potassium loss. Triamterene is added as it conserves potassium, thereby balancing its levels in the body.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Ditide Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Ditide Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Caution Advised: Ditide Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ditide Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Ditide Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test and potassium levels may be advised while you are taking this medicine.
Caution Advised: Ditide Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ditide Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Ditide Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
If a dose of Ditide Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
