You have been prescribed Derivent Pead Syrup for the treatment of asthma. It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Always keep a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler with you. If at any time your breathing gets worse, please contact your doctor or nurse for advice straightaway. Inform your doctor if you have heart problems, high blood pressure or diabetes. If you are due to have an operation or any dental treatment, tell the person carrying out the treatment which medicines you are taking, as some anesthetics can interfere with Derivent Pead Syrup. Do not smoke. Smoking causes irritation and damage to the lungs and will make your condition worse. Try to keep your regular appointments with your doctor. This is so your doctor can review your condition on a regular basis.
