Costrim V Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Tinidazole and Clotrimazole. Tinidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging the DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering.
Unsafe: It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Costrim V Tablet , as it may lead to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure, known as a Disulfiram reaction.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Costrim V Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Caution Advised: Costrim V Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body. If a single dose of Costrim V Tablet is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.
Not Safe: Costrim V Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Costrim V Tablet may make you feel drowsy or gives you problems with coordination or sensation (e.g. numbness or weakness). This may affect your driving ability.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: There is limited information available on the use of Costrim V Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Doctor consultation is advised.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Costrim V Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Costrim V Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.
