In Hypertension (high blood pressure) Besicor-T 2.5 Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them.
Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Besicor-T 2.5 Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.
Besicor-T 2.5 Tablet is a combination of two blood-pressure lowering medicines: Bisoprolol and Telmisartan. Bisoprolol is a beta blocker which works specifically on the heart to reduce heart rate and lower blood pressure. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels. Together they allow the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Besicor-T 2.5 Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Besicor-T 2.5 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.
