Propylene Glycol is used in the treatment of dry eyes.

How it Works

How Propylene Glycol Works Propylene Glycol forms a protective layer over mucous membranes to alleviate inflammation and irritation. It acts as a humectant, holding up to three times its own weight in water.

Side Effects

Common side effects of propylene glycol include application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness, as well as blurred vision.

Expert Advice

Propylene Glycol is for ophthalmic use only.
Do not use it if this product changes color or if you are sensitive to any ingredient in Propylene Glycol.
When using Propylene Glycol:

Do not touch the tip of the container to any surface to avoid contamination.
Replace the cap after each use.

Stop using Propylene Glycol or consult your doctor if you experience any of the following:

Changes in vision
Eye pain
Redness or irritation of the eye

Keep Propylene Glycol out of reach of children.
