How Lamivudine and Zidovudine work Lamivudine and Zidovudine is a combination of two anti-HIV medicines: Lamivudine and Zidovudine. They prevent the HIV virus from multiplying, thereby reducing the amount of virus in your body. Additionally, they increase the CD4 cell count, which are white blood cells that protect against infection, in your blood.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Lamivudine and Zidovudine include headache, fatigue, cough, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), rash, joint pain, hair loss, fever, gastrointestinal disturbances, muscle disorders, general discomfort, hypersensitivity, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, abdominal cramps, and indigestion.
