Uses
Ifosfamide is used in the treatment of blood cancer, breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, testicular cancer, and pancreatic cancer.
How it Works
How Ifosfamide works Ifosfamide is an anti-cancer medication that functions by damaging the genetic material (DNA and RNA) of cancer cells. This action halts their growth and multiplication.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Ifosfamide include nausea, vomiting, hair loss, infection, blood in urine, myelosuppression, acute renal failure, inflammation of the vein, decreased appetite, liver toxicity, and hemorrhagic cystitis.

- Ifosfamide is used in combination with other chemotherapy medications, radiotherapy, and surgery to treat cancer of the:

- Lymph nodes
- It is usually administered as a slow infusion (drip) into a vein (intravenously) over several hours.
- Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication to minimize damage to your bladder and kidneys.
- It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Avoid driving or engaging in activities that require mental focus until you understand how it affects you.
- Use effective measures to avoid pregnancy during treatment with this medicine and for at least 6 months after your last dose, as it can be harmful to an unborn baby.
- Your doctor may have your blood tested regularly to monitor your kidney and liver function, as well as the levels of blood cells in your blood.
