How Mesna and Ifosfamide work Mesna and Ifosfamide is a combination of two medicines: Mesna and Ifosfamide. Mesna is an anti-cancer medication that works by damaging the genetic material (DNA) of cancer cells, thereby inhibiting their growth and multiplication. Ifosfamide is a cytoprotective medicine that is added to reduce the risk of bleeding and swelling in the bladder caused by Mesna.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Mesna and Ifosfamide include hair loss, nausea, vomiting, anemia (low red blood cell count), blood in urine, decreased white blood cell count, increased risk of infection, and neurotoxicity.
