Treatment of Cough

In Cough : Cough is a sudden, forceful expulsion of air that helps clear any mucus or irritant in the throat or airways. If it happens more frequently, due to an underlying disease or an allergy, it can be bothersome. Respy-TR Syrup helps to loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. This makes it easier for air to move in and out. It will also relieve allergy symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose or throat irritation and help you carry out your daily activities more easily. This medicine is safe and effective. It usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Take it as prescribed by the doctor. Do not stop using it unless you are advised to by your doctor. Taking this medicine enables you to live your life more freely without worrying so much about things that set off your symptoms.

Respy-TR Syrup is a combination of five medicines: Diphenhydramine, Ammonium Chloride, Terpin Hydrate, Sodium Citrate, and Menthol. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine medication. It blocks the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for inflammation, congestion, itching, and other allergic reactions. Ammonium chloride is an expectorant which decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways. Terpin Hydrate works by decreasing the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways. Sodium citrate is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Menthol produces a cooling effect on the skin. Menthol dilates the blood vessels causing a sensation of coldness, followed by an analgesic effect. Menthol also acts as a penetration enhancer, increasing the penetration of drugs when applied on the skin, to give a faster onset of action.

Respy-TR Syrup is prescribed to get relief from cough. Drink warm water to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication. Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. In general, most coughs do not last more than 2-3 weeks. If your cough does last longer than this then it's better to see your doctor. Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers or asthma. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications, e.g., anti-depressants.
