Simulect Injection is a powder mixed with water and injected intravenously by a healthcare professional, typically in two doses: one 2 hours before transplant surgery and another 4 days post-surgery.
Simulect Injection is an immunosuppressant used to prevent immediate transplant rejection in kidney transplant recipients.
Do not use Simulect Injection if you have a known allergy to basiliximab or any of its ingredients, and inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Seek immediate medical attention for signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, hives, or difficulty breathing, as well as symptoms like fast heartbeat, muscle aches, or painful urination.
There are no studies on basiliximab in breast milk, but due to its properties, it may be excreted in milk. Women should avoid breastfeeding for 4 months after the last dose of Simulect Injection.
To alleviate constipation, increase fiber intake, drink 8-10 glasses of fluids daily, stay active, and consider a stool softener if prescribed. Consult your doctor if bowel movements do not occur for 2-3 days.
Foods high in soluble fiber, such as ripe bananas, oranges, boiled potatoes, white rice, curd, and oatmeal, can help manage diarrhea. Stay hydrated by drinking 8-10 glasses of water and consider soups and juices.
