How Pruderm Cream works Pruderm Cream is a combination of steroid, antifungal, and antibacterial medicines. Beclomethasone reduces redness, itching, and swelling by inhibiting the production of certain inflammatory chemicals. Econazole inhibits the production of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, causing leakage of cellular contents. Neomycin stops bacterial growth by inhibiting the production of essential proteins that are needed by the bacteria to carry out vital functions.
