How it works
Pioglucored Forte Tablet is a combination of three antidiabetic medicines: Glibenclamide, Metformin and Pioglitazone. They work by different mechanisms to provide better control of blood sugar when single or dual therapy is not effective. Glibenclamide is a sulfonylurea which works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Metformin is a biguanide. It works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione which further increases insulin sensitivity.
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Pioglucored Forte Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Pioglucored Forte Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.
Not Safe: Pioglucored Forte Tablet is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

What if I forget to take it?
If a dose of Pioglucored Forte Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
