Piat 30 mg/10 mg Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of diabetes with high cholesterol. It helps to control blood sugar levels and prevents long-term complications associated with diabetes. This medicine also reduces bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol in our body. Piat 30 mg/10 mg Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It may be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose. It may cause side effects like muscle pain, weight gain, edema, increased liver enzymes, bone fracture, and respiratory tract infection. However, these are temporary and usually subside on their own. Please consult your doctor in case these do not resolve or persist for a longer duration. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any kidney, liver or heart problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Your doctor will check your kidney function tests before starting treatment with it. How it works

Piat 30 mg/10 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Pioglitazone and atorvastatin which treat diabetes associated with high blood cholesterol. Pioglitazone is an antidiabetic medicine which works by increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medicine which works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-Co A-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL).
