Hypertension (high blood pressure)

In Hypertension (high blood pressure) METOPOLE CT 50/12.5 MG TABLET ER 10 works by blocking the effects of some chemicals on your heart and blood vessels. It slows down your heart rate and helps the heart beat with less force. Additionally, it eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and helps in reducing your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, other heart problems, or kidney problems in the future. This medicine needs to be taken regularly to be effective, so keep taking it even if you feel well. Do not stop without talking to your doctor.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. METOPOLE CT 50/12.5 MG TABLET ER 10 is a combination of two blood-pressure lowering medicines: Metoprolol Succinate and Chlorthalidone. Metoprolol Succinate is a beta blocker which works specifically on the heart to reduce heart rate and make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic which lowers blood pressure by removing extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with METOPOLE CT 50/12.5 MG TABLET ER 10 as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: METOPOLE CT 50/12.5 MG TABLET ER 10 may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Breast feeding

Doctor consultation is advised. Use of METOPOLE CT 50/12.5 MG TABLET ER 10 is not recommended in these patients.

Liver

Caution Advised: METOPOLE CT 50/12.5 MG TABLET ER 10 should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of METOPOLE CT 50/12.5 MG TABLET ER 10 may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of METOPOLE CT 50/12.5 MG TABLET ER 10 is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

If a dose of METOPOLE CT 50/12.5 MG TABLET ER 10 is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
