In Treatment of Malaria Malaria is a serious or life-threatening illness that is spread by a parasite that enters the human body by the bite of infected mosquitoes. Mefliam Plus Tablet is an antimalarial medicine and is used to treat malaria. It kills the infection-causing parasite and stops the further spread of the infection in the body. Do not use this medicine for treating any other condition without consulting your doctor.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them.
Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Mefliam Plus Tablet is to be taken with food.
Mefliam Plus Tablet is a combination of two antiparasitic medicines: Artesunate and Mefloquine, which treats malaria. These medicines work by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.
Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Mefliam Plus Tablet .
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Mefliam Plus Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Mefliam Plus Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Not Safe: Mefliam Plus Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Mefliam Plus Tablet can cause dizziness, loss of balance and mental problems and this may affect your ability to drive.
Seek medical advice from your doctor: There is limited information available on the use of Mefliam Plus Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Doctor consultation is advised.
Caution Advised: Mefliam Plus Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Mefliam Plus Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Mefliam Plus Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
If a dose of Mefliam Plus Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
