In Treatment of Bacterial infections : Longact Tablet used to treat certain bacterial infections such as gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease) and infections of the ears, stomach, and urinary tract. It stops the growth of infection-causing bacteria, thereby clearing the infection. It is advisable to continue taking it as long as it is prescribed even when you feel better, to make sure that all bacteria are killed. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and difficult to treat.

How to use Longact Tablet Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Longact Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.
How Longact Tablet works Longact Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Ampicillin and Probenecid. Ampicillin is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Probenecid is a uricosuric medicine which increases the effectiveness of amoxicillin by decreasing its passage through urine.
Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Longact Tablet .
Information regarding the use of Longact Tablet during pregnancy is not available. Doctor consultation is advised.
Longact Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
