Koycal Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Diphenhydramine, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide and Phenylpropanolamine. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Phenylpropanolamine is a decongestant. It narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Koycal Syrup is prescribed to get relief from cough and symptoms of common cold. Drink warm water to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication. Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. Call your doctor if your symptoms have not improved within seven days of treatment. Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers or asthma. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications, e.g., anti-depressants.
