In Bacterial infections : Elecillin 250mg Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that works by killing the infection causing bacteria in your body. It is effective for bacterial infections of the throat, ears, urinary tract, skin, soft tissues and typhoid fever. This medicine usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat.
How to use Elecillin Tablet Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Elecillin 250mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
How Elecillin Tablet works Elecillin 250mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.
Safe: No harmful side effects are associated with consuming alcohol alongside Elecillin 250mg Tablet
Elecillin 250mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Elecillin 250mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Elecillin 250mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Elecillin 250mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Elecillin 250mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
There is limited information available on the use of Elecillin 250mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Doctor consultation is advised.
If a dose of Elecillin 250mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
