In Treatment of Localized muscle spasm Dysport 500IU Injection is used in adults to treat muscle spasms around the eyes, in the face, neck, arm, shoulders, and leg. It is also used in children with cerebral palsy (aged two years or older), to treat muscle spasms in the legs, to improve their walking. It also effectively relieves muscle spasms in the arms of the affected children. It stops the abnormal muscle contractions called spasms by stopping the release of a chemical which acts between the nerves and muscles that causes muscle contraction. This helps to reduce the spasms and provides relief. In this way, it improves the quality of life. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered.
