In Schizophrenia Schizophrenia is a mental disorder in which a person?s thinking ability, feelings and behavior become abnormal. Dep Tablet helps restore the chemical imbalances in the brain that are responsible for such changes. It improves thoughts, behavior and enhances the quality of life.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dep Tablet can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.

Dep Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Chlordiazepoxide, Imipramine, Trihexyphenidyl and Trifluoperazine. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Imipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression. Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic which works on the nervous system and corrects some of the chemical imbalances that cause Parkinson's disease. Trifluoperazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Dep Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Dep Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Dep Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

Not Safe: Dep Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Dep Tablet make u feel dizzy, drowsy or can cause blurred vision. This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

Caution Advised: Dep Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Dep Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Caution Advised: Dep Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Dep Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended while you are taking this medicine.

If a dose of Dep Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Dep Tablet is used for the treatment of schizophrenia. It is better to take it at night as this medicine may produce drowsiness or sleepiness. Avoid getting up too fast from a sitting or lying position, or you may feel dizzy. Try to keep your regular appointments with your doctor. This is so your doctor can check on your progress. Inform your doctor if you are taking any antidepressants. If you have diabetes, you will be asked to monitor your blood glucose level regularly as Dep Tablet may affect the levels of sugar in your blood. This medicine can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors.
