How Colchi Injection works Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection is a combination of two medicines: Paracetamol and Thiocolchicoside, which relieves pain and relax the muscles. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant. It works by acting on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve the muscle stiffness or spasm.
Alcohol
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection as it is deemed unsafe.
Pregnancy
Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Breast feeding
Information regarding the use of Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection during breastfeeding is not available. Doctor consultation is advised.
Driving
Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.However, Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection contains paracetamol which is considered the safest painkiller for kidney disease patients.
Liver
Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.However, the use of Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
You have been prescribed Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection to relieve pain due to muscle spasm. It is usually used along with rest and physical therapy. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection as it may cause excessive drowsiness and increase the risk of liver damage. Older adults may have increased drowsiness, confusion, and higher risk of falling while taking Colchi 500mg/4mg Injection. Do not take it with any other medicine containing acetaminophen (drugs for pain/fever or cough-and-cold) without asking your doctor first.
