Dry cough

In Dry cough A dry cough is a cough where no phlegm or mucus is produced. It may cause a tickling sensation or itching in the throat and may be due to cold, flu, allergies or throat irritants. Alocet D Tablet suppresses severe dry cough and gives you relief from an itchy throat. Apart from this, it also reduces symptoms of allergy like watery eyes, sneezing and runny nose. Along with taking Alocet D Tablet, gargling with warm salt water and having ginger or honey can help you manage dry cough.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Alocet D Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, dextromethorphan and phenylephrine which relieve dry cough. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Alcohol

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Alocet D Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Breast feeding

Not Safe: Alocet D Tablet is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving

Not Safe: Alocet D Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Alocet D Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Alocet D Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Not Safe: Alocet D Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Alocet D Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Alocet D Tablet is prescribed to get relief from a dry cough. Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers or asthma. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications, e.g., anti-depressants. Consult your doctor if you do not see any improvement and have cough for more than 7 days.
