- Urokinase assists in breaking down blood clots in blood vessels, thereby treating conditions such as:
- Heart attack
- Pulmonary embolism
- Stroke
- It should be administered as soon as possible (within 12 hours) after the onset of a heart attack.
- It is typically given by your nurse or doctor as an infusion (drip) into a vein.
