How Travoprost Works Travoprost is a prostaglandin analogue. It functions by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor, thereby reducing elevated eye pressure.

Common side effects of Travoprost include conjunctival hyperemia.

  • For optimal results, instill one drop once daily in the evening or at night in the affected eye(s).
  • Apply gentle pressure on the corner of the eye (near the nose) for approximately 1 minute immediately after administering the drop.
  • Travoprost may lead to brown pigmentation of the iris, which could be permanent.
  • Your eyelashes may become denser, and the skin on your eyelids may darken.
  • These changes are expected to resolve after discontinuation of Travoprost.
  • Wait at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to prevent dilution.
  • Travoprost is effective in lowering elevated intraocular pressure and reducing the risk of vision loss.
