Travoprost is used for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

How it Works

How Travoprost Works Travoprost is a prostaglandin analogue. It functions by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor, thereby reducing elevated eye pressure.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Travoprost include conjunctival hyperemia.

Expert Advice

For optimal results, instill one drop once daily in the evening or at night in the affected eye(s).
Apply gentle pressure on the corner of the eye (near the nose) for approximately 1 minute immediately after administering the drop.
Travoprost may lead to brown pigmentation of the iris, which could be permanent.
Your eyelashes may become denser, and the skin on your eyelids may darken.
These changes are expected to resolve after discontinuation of Travoprost.
Wait at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to prevent dilution.
Travoprost is effective in lowering elevated intraocular pressure and reducing the risk of vision loss.

How long does it take for Travoprost to work?

Travoprost begins to work approximately 2 hours after administration, with maximum effect reached around 12 hours. If symptoms do not improve within a day, consult your doctor.
