Tafluprost is used for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
How it Works
How Tafluprost works: Tafluprost is a prostaglandin analogue. It functions by enhancing the outflow of aqueous humor, which helps to reduce elevated intraocular pressure.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Tafluprost include blurred vision, conjunctival hyperemia, changes in eyelashes, stinging in the eyes, eye itching, darkening of eyelashes, headache, common cold, cough, and urinary tract infection.
Expert Advice
- Tafluprost helps lower high intraocular pressure and reduces the risk of vision loss.
- For optimal results, instill one drop once daily in the evening/night in the affected eye(s).
- Apply gentle pressure on the corner of the eye (near the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- Tafluprost may cause brown pigmentation of the iris, which can be permanent.
- Your eyelashes may become denser, and the skin on your eyelids may darken.
- These changes are expected to resolve after discontinuing Tafluprost.
- Wait at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
- Ensure to use the medication within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
