Strontium Ranelate works by reducing bone breakdown and stimulating the rebuilding of bone, thereby decreasing the risk of fractures.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Strontium Ranelate include constipation, indigestion, joint pain, muscle cramps, muscle pain, sleep disorders, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

Expert Advice

Strontium Ranelate is used to treat severe osteoporosis in men and postmenopausal women.
Empty the sachet, mix well, and drink it immediately.
You should not wait more than 24 hours before consuming it.
If you cannot drink the medicine right away, ensure you stir it again before drinking.
It is recommended to take this medicine at bedtime, preferably at least 2 hours after dinner.
You may lie down immediately after taking it if you wish.
If you take antacids (medicines to relieve heartburn) or medications containing calcium, take them at least 2 hours after Strontium Ranelate to avoid interference.
Inform your doctor if you have or have had any of the following conditions:

Blood clot
Heart disease
Kidney disease
High blood pressure
Surgery on the arteries of your legs

Consult your doctor if you are wheelchair-bound or confined to bed, or if you are undergoing or recovering from surgery.
The risk of blood clots in the legs or lungs may increase with prolonged immobilization.
