Streptomycin is used in the treatment of tuberculosis.

How Streptomycin works: Streptomycin is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required for bacteria to perform vital functions.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Streptomycin include vomiting, nausea, vertigo, fever, facial paresthesia, rash, urticaria, and an increased white blood cell count (eosinophils).

- Streptomycin is used for the treatment of tuberculosis, in combination with other medications.
- Do not skip any doses and complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better.
- Stopping treatment early may cause the infection to return and become harder to treat.
- It is administered via injection into a muscle.
