How it Works
How Sodium Cromoglycate works: Sodium Cromoglycate is a mast cell stabilizer. It acts on specific cells in the body, known as mast cells, to prevent them from releasing substances that trigger allergic symptoms.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Sodium Cromoglycate include nasal irritation, burning sensation, stinging sensation, and sneezing.
Expert Advice
- Your doctor has prescribed Sodium Cromoglycate to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) due to eye allergies.
- It is effective for long-term allergies, including:
- Perennial (year-round) allergies
- Seasonal eye allergies
- After instilling the drop, apply gentle pressure to the corner of the eye (near the nose) for about 1 minute.
- Wait at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to prevent dilution.
- A stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 minutes; notify your doctor if it persists longer.
- Ensure to use the medication within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
