Uses
Sodium acid phosphate is used in the treatment of high calcium levels in the blood and hyperparathyroidism. It is also used to treat low blood phosphate levels.

How sodium acid phosphate works: Sodium acid phosphate functions by binding with calcium, helping to restore its levels to normal.

- Sodium acid phosphate helps treat high calcium levels in the blood, which may be caused by an overactive parathyroid gland or certain types of cancer.
- It may also be used to treat low blood phosphate levels.
- Do not take antacids (to reduce the acid level in your stomach) while using this medication, as they may decrease its efficacy.
- Your doctor may conduct regular blood tests to monitor calcium and phosphate levels in your blood while you are on this medication.
- Avoid other supplements containing calcium while taking this medication.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of kidney or heart disease.
