How it Works

How Telmisartan and Rosuvastatin Work Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It functions by blocking the hormone angiotensin, which relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. Rosuvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by inhibiting an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) that is necessary for the body to produce cholesterol. As a result, it lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides while raising "good" cholesterol (HDL).

Side Effects

Common side effects of Telmisartan and Rosuvastatin include nausea, constipation, stomach pain, headache, weakness, dizziness, muscle pain, increased potassium levels in the blood, increased glucose levels in the blood, and increased liver enzymes.
