How Risperidone and Trihexyphenidyl work Risperidone and Trihexyphenidyl is a combination of two medicines: Risperidone and Trihexyphenidyl. Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic that works by balancing the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts, and behavior. Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic that acts on the nervous system to correct some of the chemical imbalances that cause Parkinson's disease and certain side effects associated with antipsychotic treatment.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Risperidone and Trihexyphenidyl include nausea, dry mouth, Parkinsonism, akathisia (inability to stay still), sedation, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), anxiety, dizziness, gastrointestinal symptoms, and blurred vision.
