How Ribociclib works Ribociclib is an anti-cancer medication that functions by inhibiting proteins (kinases) essential for cell growth and division. This action slows the proliferation of cancer cells and ultimately leads to their death.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Ribociclib include rash, nausea, constipation, fatigue, diarrhea, decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils), hair loss, back pain, infection, anemia (low red blood cell count), decreased appetite, vomiting, headache, low blood platelets, decreased potassium level in blood, decreased white blood cell count (lymphocytes), dizziness, vertigo, fainting, increased lacrimation, breathlessness, cough, itching, abnormal liver enzymes, and decreased calcium level in blood.

  • Take it with or without food, preferably at the same time every day, to avoid missing a dose.
  • If you forget to take the medicine or vomit, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
  • Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed dose.
