How Ramosetron works Ramosetron is an antiemetic medication. It functions by blocking the action of a chemical messenger, serotonin, in the brain that may induce nausea and vomiting during anti-cancer treatment, such as chemotherapy, or after surgery.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Ramosetron include diarrhea, rash, headache, constipation, itching, hiccups, numbness of the tongue, liver dysfunction, increased blood urea nitrogen, redness of the skin, and hot flushes.

- Unlike some other nausea medications, the side effects of Ramosetron are relatively mild.
- It is available in various forms that do not require swallowing, including:
- A film that is placed on the tongue
- A dissolving pill
- Ramosetron is fast-acting, with effects starting within 30 minutes.
