Prulifloxacin is used in the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs). It may also be used for infections of the tonsils, sinuses, nose, throat, female genital organs, skin and soft tissues, and lungs (pneumonia).

How Prulifloxacin works Prulifloxacin is an antibiotic that functions by inhibiting the activity of a bacterial enzyme known as DNA-gyrase. This action prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, ultimately leading to their death.
