Policosanol is used in the treatment of high cholesterol.
How it Works
How Policosanol Works: Policosanol belongs to the class of drugs known as lipid-modifying agents. It functions by decreasing cholesterol production in the liver, thereby reducing levels of bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein or LDL) in the blood.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Policosanol include abnormal urination during the day, dizziness, fatigue, increased appetite, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, and upset stomach.
